The appointment of an Advisor is based upon mutual agreement between the student and the Advisor. For non-thesis MS students, the Advisor will be appointed by the Graduate Program director. All MME graduate students must have an Advisor prior to completing 9 credits in the graduate program (normally within the first semester in the program. The Advisor is responsible for insuring the student follows the program of study. For help in choosing an advisor, contact the MME department for a list of current faculty members and their research interests. However, it is strongly recommended that a student selects his/her advisor as early as possible to provide sufficent time for research.
